About Us

Blacks in Period Films is a blog born of passion and desperation. A passion for period settings, costumes, and films. As well as a desperation for Blacks in these settings, costumes, and films. Being a Black fan of period films created in me a strong desire to see people that look like me and my ancestors in everyday period situations. I searched and searched all throughout the internet but could not find a website or blog that quenched my thirst. Finally, I decided to create a place of my own. I will use this place to discuss and conserve images and reviews of past and new period films that feature characters that are Black (Africans and members of the African diaspora).

This blog was created and is currently run solely by me ... call me Erica!
Enjoy the blog and have fun!!
